Application for registration
Applicants wishing to become a European Political Party or a European Political Foundation can apply for registration.
Once registered, European Political Parties and European Political Foundations enjoy legal recognition in all Member States and can apply for funding from the general budget of the European Union.
An application for registration shall be filed with the Authority.
An application for registration as a European Political Foundation shall be filed only through the European Political Party with which the applicant is formally affiliated.
The application shall be accompanied by:
- documents proving that the applicant satisfies the conditions laid down in Article 3 of Regulation No 1141/2014, including a standard formal declaration in the form set out in the Annex to Regulation No 1141/2014;
- the statutes of the party or foundation, containing the provisions required by Articles 4 and 5 of Regulation No 1141/2014, including the relevant annexes and, where applicable, the statement of the Member State of the seat referred to in Article 15(2) of Regulation No 1141/2014;
- the documents required by Articles 1 and 2 of Commission Delegated Regulation 2015/2401 of 2 October 2015 on the content and functioning of the Register of European political parties and foundations.
Once submitted, the Authority will examine the application in order to determine whether the applicant satisfies the conditions and requirements for registration.

The Authority collects and processes personal information only to the extent necessary to fulfil its tasks as a body of the Union (which are laid down in Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 1141/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2014 on the statute and funding of European political parties and European political foundations).
All personal data are handled in conformity with the provisions and requirements of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data.
